About Me
Narrative Strategist & Writer. Born in Düsseldorf, based near Hamburg. I studied Philosophy, Linguistics, Literature and Psychology. I have worked in Hamburg, Munich, and London — building narratives at the intersection of story, identity and meaning. I turn facts into fire. Strategy into meaning.
„Storytelling is my life. Thank you for making it part of yours.“
I believe.
It’s a strategy. It’s a mind trick. It’s the way humans build reality. It’s hypnosis, it’s magic, and it’s the most underestimated competitive advantage in business.
Facts don’t move people. Narratives do — because narratives are not how humans describe reality. They are how humans create it. Every economy, every brand, every institution runs on shared narratives. And that is not just another metaphor. That is creation itself.
„Human, cultural, political and economic reality is a competition for the better story.“
I am.
I was born in Düsseldorf. I have worked in Hamburg, Munich, and London. I am building The Pirate’s Nest on Madeira.
I am Christopher Quente — Narrative Strategist & Writer. I have spent my career inside the places where stories become decisions: as Executive Creative Director at DDB and BBDO, as Managing Director of my own agency, and as Brand Manager working from within organisations across Europe.
„I am building narratives at the intersection of story, identity and meaning — I turn facts into fire.“
I research and teach the psychology of narratives at LMU Munich. I wrote the book Brand’s New Toy. I write songs. And I am finishing my novel — which will obviously take some time.
I create.

Welcome to The Narrative Studio.
The Narrative Studio is my offer to anyone who wants to take control of their story — individuals, brands, and organisations alike. As a workshop, a strategy session, or a complete narrative architecture.
My goal is simple: to give you the tools and the story that you need — and that only you can tell.
„You either write your narrative, or you get written.“
When we work together, every outcome becomes an Artefakt — a building block of your consistent narrative identity. Your Brand DNA: core character, human truth, and the narrative frameworks that make you recognisable — and irresistible.
The Barden Oath.
Every engagement is guided by the Barden Oath — an ethical foundation, much like the Hippocratic Oath: a commitment to always serve the story, the person, and the truth behind both.
„Ich, der Entdecker des unbekannten Lands,
Hüter des Feuers, verliebt in das Neue —
erschaffe ich Schönes zu Ehren der Menschheit.“
„I, the explorer of unknown lands,
keeper of the fire, in love with the new —
I create beauty in honour of humanity.“
The Pirate’s Nest.
The Narrative Studio will eventually take physical form on Madeira — a place where stories are built from scratch, with a community of people who take their story seriously.
For now, it exists as an architect’s plan and an empty plot of land facing the open Atlantic. A Hemingway fishing bar nearby. The horizon wide open. Waiting.
I document the building of it in the Log-Book →
